Vladivostok - Moscow: Independent Tour

Day 1. VladivostokVladivostok

Arrival in Vladivostok. Meeting at the airport (the driver will be holding the sign “Russia Travel Group”). Transfer to the hotel located in the city center. Accommodation. Free time.

Day 2. Vladivostok – Arkhipovka

Breakfast. Meeting with a guide at the hotel lobby. Departure to excursion. 400 km drive to Chuguevsky County (5-6 hours). Lunch in a cafe on the way. Accommodation in Arkhipovka Country Lodge. Walking tour of Arkhipovka Village, visiting pioneer families, history of Russian old believers. Russian steam bath. Dinner.

Day 3. Arkhipovka - Vladivostok

Breakfast.

Excursion to the Russian old believers' village and the beekeeper's. Lunch, herbal tea and honey. Drive back to Arkhipovka. Relaxing near Ussuri River, swimming. Vladivostok

(Optional: horse-bask riding). Dinner in the Country Lodge. Traditional folk songs and dances.

Transfer to Vladivostok. Dinner in a cafe on the way.

Transfer to the railway station. Train to Irkutsk.

 

Day 4 - 6. In a train

Day 7. Irkutsk

Arrival in Irkursk.

Meeting at the railway station (the driver will be holding the sign “Russia Travel Group”). Transfer to the hotel located in the city center. Accommodation. Sightseeing tour of Irkutsk including visits to the historical center, Znamensky Orthodox Cathedral noted for its original iconostasis and graves of the Decembrists. Your English-speaking guide will help you to explore Irkursk, a beautiful town known as the "Paris of Siberia". During the tour, you will see the 18th century churches, brightly painted shutters and log houses decorated with wooden lacework, as well as examples of modern Russian architecture and soaring bridges that reach out across the river Angara. You will have the opportunity to visit the unique concert of classic music.

Optional lunch in downtown restaurant. Return to the hotel. Free time. Irkutsk

Day 8. Irkutsk Baikal Lake

Breakfast.

Meeting with a guide at the hotel lobby. Excursion to Baikal Lake. Transfer to Listvyanka settlement (65 km). Lecture at Baikal Ecology Museum, displaying the examples of the lake’s unique features of flora and fauna: stuffed animals, rich collection of minerals, different kinds of fish and other organisms inhabiting the lake. Today you will have another opportunity to explore the local village and the Lake Baikal area. For the Russian people Lake Baikal is a natural treasure. Located in Siberia near the Mongolian border, and surrounded by mountains, forests and wild rivers, Baikal is an immense and breathtaking area of physical beauty. Baikal holds twenty percent of the earth's fresh water and harbors more endemic species of plants and animals than any other lake in the world. Baikal is not just a lake, but something greater and deeper. It is bottomless and majestic, but not an ocean or sea in which man loses all his visible bearings. There we sense the greatness of nature, feeling at one with it, not alienated from it, which is a rare phenomenon in developed countries. Baikal is a bridge to space. You must see Baikal to be ablKrasnoyarsk - fountainse to say what it is like.

Walking excursion to Listvyanka village, situated on the shore of Lake Baikal. In Listvyanka, we will have a guided tour of the Baikal Lake Museum followed by a sightseeing tour of the village, including a visit to the St. Nicolas Russian Orthodox Church located in the old fishermen’s village of Krestovka. Dinner. Transfer to Irkutsk.

Day 9. Krasnoyarsk

Arrival in Krasnoyarsk.

Krasnoyarsk lies along Enisey riverone of the most beautiful and powerful rivers of Siberia
. It is surrounded by mountains, giving a very interesting flavour to the city views. The history of Krasnoyarsk counts back to the year 1628 when it was founded by the cossack Andrey Dubensky. At that time it used to be a local center and was an important transport hub for river transport.

Day 10. Novosibirsk

 

Arrival in Novosibirsk.

Guided city tour. Novosibirsk is the largest city in Siberia with population over 1,6 million inhabitants, and it is the richest city in the region. The city was considered to be the business capital of Siberia, so the largest Siberian banks and the Siberian Stock and Commodity Exchanges are situated there. Novosibirsk is an interesting mix of a big city and provincial town. City tour with visit to the "Akademgorodok" (Academy town). In the 1957 Siberian Branch of Academy of Science built this special town in the pine forest on the shore of the Ob Sea (man-made huge reservoir on the Ob-river).

Day 11. Ural and Yekaterinburg


Arrival to Yekaterinburg.

Yekaterinburg is the capital of the Ural Federal District, which covers an area of about 2 million sq. km. The territory possesses the main oil and gas fields in Russia, and the richest deposits of iron and polymetallic ores. The world largest metallurgical enterprises are located in the Urals, concentrating here due to the great industrial and intellectual potential. City tour. During the tour you will see Europe-Asia border obelisk, Kamenniye Palatki (Stone Tents) and Shartash Lake, Verkh-Isetski Pond, the biggest pond on Iset.

At night you will reach Omsk. Omsk is a rather big city of West - Seberian region of Russian Federation. It is considered to be the most western one, judging location, among the biggest Siberian Cities.

Day 14. Volgograd

Meeting with a guide at the hotel lobby. Departure for excursion. Excursion along memorable sights of the hero-city Volgograd, such as Central Embankment, the Alley of Heroes, memorial park, the Square of Fallen Fighters.

Day 15. VolgogradVolgograd


Breakfast at the hotel.


Meeting with a guide at the hotel lobby. Departure to excursion. Military-historical excursion acquainting with the history of Stalingrad-Volgograd. Tourists will pass along the street of the World - the first street revived from ruins of the post-war city, visit the House of sergeant Pavlov - one of bastions of soldiers` glory, rise on the main height of Russia - the Mamayev Hill, examine an exposition of the museum-panorama " The Stalingrad Battle" and ruins of Grudinin`s mill, visit the shop of souvenirs "Magic of stone".

The second part of the excursion - Excursion to the places of fights during the World War II. Tourists will visit a monument of marshal Jykov, a monumental cemetery - the burial place of Russian, German, Austrian and other soldiers, fallen in this area during the war.

Day 16. St. Petersburg

 

Arrival to St. Petersburg.

Founded in 1703 by Peter the Great as a 'window on the West', and named in honor of St Peter, St. Petersburg is testament to the grandeur of Imperial Russia under the tsars. Built on a delta, where the Neva and the Fontanka rivers meet, the city is essentially a series of islands, rivers and canals, joined by magnificent bridges, a feature which has earned it the title 'The Venice of the North' or Pushkin Palace'City with 101 Islands`. The architecture is on an ambitious scale, and the wealth of palaces and cathedrals, boulevards and colonnaded facades painted in Mediterranean colours cannot fail to amaze you.

Meeting with a guide at the hotel lobby. Departure to excursion “City tour”. St Petersburg city tour – all major city attractions (3 hours) with visit to Peter and Paul Fortress. You will see the magnificent St.Isaac’s cathedral, Vasilyevsky island, The University, The Winter Palace, the Palace square, Church of the Savior on the Blood, the square of Arts and other famous places and monuments.

Day 17. St. Petersburg

Excursion to Hermitage Museum - The State Hermitage occupies six magnificent buildings situated along the embankment of the River Neva, right in the heart of St. Petersburg. Put together throughout two centuries and a half, the Hermitage collections of works of art (over 3,000,000 items) present the development of the world culture and art from the Stone Age to the 20th century. Today the Museum is creating its digital self-portrait to be displayed around the world.

Return to the hotel. Free time.

Day 18. St. Petersburg

Excursion to Peterhof palace.

Peterhof is a jewel of the Russian art, a town of parks, palaces and fountains. In the past it used to be an exquisite summer residence of the Russian tsars. The Upper and the Lower Parks St. Petersburg - Moscow trainare the masterpieces of art of gardening numbering over 170 fountains, 5 monumental cascades. The world-famous palace, fountain and park ensemble of Peterhof is an outstanding landmark of Russian artistic culture of the 18-19th centuries. Nowadays, due to the unforgettable beauty of its fountains, parks and palaces, Peterhof has become the most attractive for numerous Russian and foreign visitors suburban royal park and palace ensemble of the northern Russia's capital. To feel happy, to make their spirits high, people often come to Peterhof and enjoy its magic charms.

Return to St. Petersburg. Free time.

Day 19. Moscow

Arrival to Moscow.

 

Meeting at railway station. Departure to excursion.

The tour of Moscow City will present you one of the most beautiful sights of the capital of Russia.

We shall start at your hotel and organize this tour depending on its location but it certainly will include the Red Square with the Kremlin, St.Basil's Cathedral and GUM Department Store. Then you’ll enjoy the panorama of Moscow from Sparrow hills. Turn around and watch the main building of Moscow State University. Local vendors will offer you matrioshkas and military shapkas and other souvenirs. Moscow
Next point in the itinerary is the Novodevichy Convent, situated not far from Luzhniki Olympic Stadium, on the bank of a small lake with white swans. That will remind you of Swan Lake at Bolshoi theatre.

Continuing the city tour, you will pass along Kutuzov avenue and visit the Victory Park
with its memorials, fountains and churches. Free time for shopping, picture taking.

Day 20. Moscow

Kremlin tour with visit to the Armory and Cathedrals. The Kremlin has always been perceived as a symbol of power and might of the Russian land. Each era of the Russian history left its architectural mark on the Kremlin. Within the Kremlin walls there are many architectural monuments, churches, cathedrals, museums, etc.

Optional lunch in the city center. (Traditional Russian cuisine with vodka tasting)

After lunch we continue exploring Moscow downtown and feel the heartbeat of Russia on the famous Red Square widely known as the sight where the military parades were held during Soviet time. ThenMoscow you’ll find yourself near the brightest symbol of the city – the extraordinary St.Basil Cathedral with its joyful multi-colored domes. Wander through the aisles of the enormous GUM shopping mall– a stunning architectural masterpiece of the late 19th century now facing the official residence of President of Russia – the Kremlin Senate and see the famous Saviour Chimes - a symbol of Moscow. Go down and up the moving stairs of the new underground shopping mall Okhotny ryad decorated with marbles, glass and fountains. You will see the legendary Moscow Metro with its mosaics and frescos.

Return to the hotel.

Day 21. Moscow

Meeting with a guide and a driver at the hotel lobby. Departure to excursion.

Excursion to Sergiev Posad (70 km / 46 – mile north from Moscow), the most popular town on the Golden Ring route. The monastery houses the Russian Patriarch's temporary residence. In the monastery you will visit St. Trinity Cathedral where the shrine with St. Sergey's relics is stored, and the Assumption Cathedral that repeats its form after the Assumption Cathedral in the Kremlin. The most beautiful part of the monastery is represented by two similar constructions one of which is the Ecclesiastical Academy and Seminary and the other the Refectory with the Church of St. Sergiy. You will see Holy Uspensky gates, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Assumption Cathedral, Sergius Well Chapel, Towers, Refectory, Church of the St. Micah, Sacristy, Church of the Holy Spirit, Trinity Sergius Monastery, Old Russian Applied Art Museum, Chertogi Palace, Kelarskiye Ponds, Church of St. Paraskeva Pyatnitsa, Church of the Presentation of the Mother of God etc.
