Lunar craters

KamchatkaDay 1. Petropavlovsk - Kamchatski
After arriving to the Airport, you will be met by our driver (the driver will be holding the sign Russia Travel Group). Transfer by minivan to one of the recreation centre located in a forest zone of Paratunskiye hot springs. Accommodation at the hotel in a double room (breakfast in included). You will be able to enjoy Russian cuisine and hospitality of local cooks in the hotel cafe. There is an open pool with thermal water (t = 23-38°C) on the territory of the hotel where you can bathe as long as you want (using pool is included into cost of a hotel room). Here you can specify and discuss each point of the program of your residence in Kamchatka.
Free time.

Day 2. Kozyrevsk
8.30 am Breakfast. Kozyrevsk
We leave the city for Kozyrevsk with a stop in Milkovo for a dinner (visiting of a museum is possible). On the way you will see, what diverse relief Kamchatka peninsula has: mountains with passes are replaced by flat woodlands. In the evening there is a stop for overnight on the bank of the longest river which has the same name with our peninsula - Kamchatka.

Day 3. Tolbachik Volcano
8.30 am Breakfast.
Departure to Tolbachik Volcano is planned. Then we encamp at a seismic station Lunohodchik (1200 m). The guides will tell to you about Tolbachik volcanic range and about well-known Big Cleft Tolbachinsky Eruption. You’ll see a number of small cones formed as a result of this eruption. According to your desire the ascent to a crater of 1941 (2400 m) can be organized. You’ll see lifeless slag fields and realize that power of the nature is boundless.

Day 4. Plosky (Flat) Tolbachik Kamchatka / Tolbachik Volcano
8.30 am Breakfast.The ascent on the Plosky (Flat) Tolbachik is planned. The ascension is not hard but dangerous. Everyone carries personal climbing equipment and a packed meal. The top is not standard, it reminds a mountain plateau but as all active volcanoes has a crater. This crater was formed in 1975; there is a lake of off-yellow color with sulfur outcrops at the bottom of it. From the top of the crater an excellent view on Kluchevskaya group of volcanoes opens in case of clear weather. A descent from the volcano takes half the time. In the evening you are ready to rest and overnight at Lunohodchik station.

Day 5. Esso
8.30 am Breakfast.
Transfer to the well-known settlement Esso. For its beauty this place was named “Kamchatka Switzerland”. Accommodation at the comfortable hotel.
Free time.

Day 6. EssoKamchatka
8.30 am Breakfast.
Meeting with a guide at the hotel lobby. Departure to excursion.
Bathing in mineral springs and excursion to the ethnographic museum.

Day 7. Paratunka
8.30 am Breakfast.
Driving from Esso to your hotel in Paratunka base. On your way back from Esso you will visit Anavgay - small national settlement of Evens with a traditional way of life. National dance of Evens will be presented to you. On 47-th kilometer you’ll see the bears living in bondage. You will see Bistrinskaya HydroPowerStation.

Day 8.
8.30 am Breakfast.Kamchatka / the Esso settlement
Driving to the feet of Avachinsky Volcano (2.5 – 3 hours) by off-road car by the Suhaya (Dry) River. Then encamping (up to the group liking it is possible to stay in comfortable huts). There are a lot of ground-squirrels at the base which amuse tourists being very friendly and fearless. After lunch you are offered an acclimatizing walk round Avacha mountain pass. During this walk you climb a hill, called Verblud (Camel). This hill was formed after the eruption of Avachinsky Volcano. As the result of the earth’s crust motion (drift) during the time of volcano activity the hot lava had been flowing out of the huge cleft which later turned to the Verblud Hill. From this hill you can enjoy panoramic viewing of Avachinsky (2751 m), Koryaksky (3456 m), Zhupanovsky (2300 m), Vilyuchinsky (2175 m) and Dzendzur (2923 m) Volcanoes.
After walking you have a dinner and rest at the camp and then overnight.
  
Day 9. Avachinsky Volcano
8.30 am Breakfast.Kamchatka / Karymskiy Volcano
At dawn, after breakfast the group starts the ascent. While climbing volcanic ridge you will get real pleasure to have bird's-eye view of Kamchatka landscapes. You have a bite at the 2000 m height at the feet of the new cone. Then with a second wind you’ll get the top of the volcano in 1-1.5 hour. A wonderful view is opened up before your eyes from the edge of the crater: the cities of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Yelizovo, the valley of Avacha River and Avacha Bay, Vilyuchinsky, Gorely and Mutnovsky Volcanoes and even the snow-white cone of Opala Volcano in case of good weather - to the south; the massive cone of Koryaksky Volcano towers above to the west; Nalychevo River Valley, Dzendzur and Zhupanovsky Volcanoes to the north. The total time of ascending depends on the level of group’s physical training and weather, in average it takes about 5-7 hours. The descent takes the half of this time. After the returning to the camp you are treated to the most delicious supper cooked on fire.
After having a rest you drive back to hotel.

Day 10. Petropavlovsk - Kamchatski Kamchatka / Avachinsky Volcano
8.30 am Breakfast.
We invite yuo to make a fascinating sightseeing tour around Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. During this time you’ll see historical monuments of the city, which is already more than 260 years old, you’ll be told about such famous navigators, as Vitus Bering, Fransua de la Perouse, Charles Clerk, who visited Avacha Bay.
From the sightseeing area located on a Petrovskaya Hill, you’ll be able to observe a fine view of Avacha Bay and the historical center of Petropavlovsk. Having visited an exhibition of local lore museum you’ll learn a lot about the nature of Kamchatka, the life of indigenous peoples of peninsula and history of its development. The excursion is made by bus.
You visit our fish market and souvenir's shop.

Day 11. Extra day in case of bad weather
It is reserved in the program as one spare day in case of bad weather. If you desire, we organize a helicopter excursion to the Valley of Geysers provided good Kamchatka / Tolbachik Volcanoweather. It is paid separately.

Day 12. Petropavlovsk - Kamchatski
8:00 am Wake-up call.
8.30 am Breakfast.

Check - out.
Transfer to the international airport. Departure.

Price of the program starts from $ 1 870

The cost includes:
- 3 meals a day during the rout and breakfast in hotel; Kamchatka / Avachinsky Volcano
